Arctic seals are being pushed closer to extinction and more than half of bird species around the world are declining. That’s according to an update on Friday of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s list of threatened species. Human-caused global warming, agriculture and deforestation are all threatening the environments these creatures need to survive. One bright spot was green sea turtles. They are rebounding thanks to conservation efforts. The conservation group and experts say that’s proof of what sustained work can accomplish.
