Indonesia’s Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki has erupted, sending volcanic materials 18 kilometers into the sky. The eruption has also released searing gas clouds down its slopes, according to Indonesia’s Geology Agency. No casualties have been reported. Authorities had raised the volcano’s alert status to the highest level in June, expanding the exclusion zone to a 4-mile radius as activity increased. The volcano, part of a twin system with Mount Lewotobi Perempuan, has erupted multiple times this year.
