Authorities are searching for a suspect in the killing of Nuno Loureiro, a prominent MIT physics professor. He was shot at his home near Boston on Monday night and died Tuesday at a local hospital. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says no suspects are in custody as of Wednesday morning. Loureiro joined MIT in 2016 and led the Plasma Science and Fusion Center, focusing on advancing clean energy technology. The shooting comes days after a deadly shooting at Brown University, where police are also searching for a gunman. The FBI says it knows of no connection between the crimes.
