A 5.5 magnitude earthquake has shaken a region in Peru, killing at least five people. Local authorities reported the incident on Sunday. More than 20 people are injured, and 300 have been displaced. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck on Saturday at 9:24 p.m. local time. Its epicenter was located about 1 and a half miles west-southwest of the city of Sicaya in Huancayo province. The quake occurred at a depth of 6 miles. Peru’s National Civil Defense Institute says the total number of people missing is still unknown.
