Gabriel Landeskog uses sensors in his skates and sneakers to monitor his biomechanics. This technology helps the Colorado Avalanche captain stay on the ice after a three-year gap due to a complicated knee injury. The sensors track movement patterns, workload, and stride characteristics, alerting Landeskog when he needs rest. The assist goes to Plantiga, an AI-driven movement platform that helps athletes stay on top of their game and prevent injuries. It’s used by athletes and teams across various professional sports, along with colleges, weekend warriors and elite sprinters. Landeskog is a finalist for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL player who exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication.
